Research

source I thought this was a genius infograph resume. I tried to do something similar, with it being based off my work space, but I ended up doing something entirely different. I might try again for my project 5, but is that like copying his idea? I could just redo my infograph resume anyway. How could i make it better, then? Mo graciously provided me with some advice to look on Behance.com for ideas for our portfolios and self branding and stuff. Some other ideas for project 5: - redo p1 - more food icons (ref. p2) (ethnic foods maybe; Japanese? I could do a mixture of my heritage; Chinese, Thai, and Filipino! - business card? logo/brand? (because I want to open an online shop in the future. I'm thinking prints and stickers and idk what else.  maybe I should make a layout for a commissions sheet or the website itself? - cover for my portfolio; signature - on-going project: stickers. Create a sticker sheet. (layout element) Theme: snowboard stickers; link to list ...

Project 3

posters: for grabbing attention from a distance vs brochures and pamphlets which are meant to be viewed at arm's length my audience: humans of earth objective: To get people to come explore Kepler 425-b. tag lines: "your second home" -doesn't align with objective; just want tourism, not immigration "pure imagination in reality" -considering the pink fog "a whole new word" -not really eye-catching "a world of pure imagination" -inspired by that song... idk, copyright issues?? "an acid trip without the withdrawal" -not PG enough probably "reality reimagined with emphasis" -because everything's bigger?? charas: whimsy, everything is big, year is 20 days longer, petting zoo(?), magical, kid friendly, exploration, random??? Kepler 425-b reality reimagined with 60% more emphasis bigger food! bigger malls! bigger beaches! bigger animals! (123)123-1234 Located only 1,400 LY away, call now to book...

Elevator Speech

My previous job experience includes waitress-ing at a small Thai restaurant and a smoothie cafe in the gym on my college campus. I've also worked at a Mariano's grocery store and with my uncle during the summers as an extra hand with painting houses' interiors and exteriors. Overall I gained valuable experience in learning how to talk to people professionally and honing my time management skills as well as multitasking and organization. My current job is in an office setting and what really drew me to that was the opportunity to gain experience in the corporate wor...

Midterm Resume Project

https://www.behance.net/gallery/11038649/Resume  Here's a website I found useful. This information was new to me, but common sense: " Since hiring managers have already been trained to scan for specific information in the anticipated flow of information in a traditional resume, many are not willing to go through the extra effort of reviewing an infographic resume in a format that is new to their eyes. For this reason, it’s always advisable to include a traditional text-based resume along with your infographic resume." Here's a " before " of my resume; hopefully there'll be a good "after" one.   More info from the website mentioned above: "According to a study conducted by TheLadders , 80 percent of the job recruiter’s time will be spent on just six key elements in your resume: Your name The company you currently work for Your previous employment The start and end dates of your previous jobs The start and end...

Shapey

Shapey  (shay-pee) adj.  used to describe anything seeming to be made up of many different, simple or complex, shapes. Not to be confused with 'shapely', which is to have a pleasing shape or figure. Using Adobe Illustrator in this self portrait project forced our brains to condense parts of our faces into shapes. Images of faces comprised of multiple shapes could be considered shapey, while images of faces with few individual shapes could be considered not, or less, shapey. e.g. The roller coaster is very shapey.  other: makeup contouring can give this effect to one's face. Project Two WIP 2.1

Holy crap, this is taking  foreverrr ... here's what I have so far.

Project Two WIP 2.0

Hey, it's almost midnight! Thursday nights are great somehow. Here's what I'm thinking for my "background," I was inspired by the song, Tummy Treasures by 2ToneDisco and Ducky. (I just found this SICK remix by someone else!) But it'd be really cute looking foods in a grid behind my profile photo: I really want to Andy Warhol this...I might for my student art exhibit submission.   Of course arranged in a certain way... I'm having trouble with the layout of the individual icons; I thought I might have this problem, but the banner is too wide and short for a 3x5 like I wanted. Here are some variations of my process deciding on a layout:  2x5 (this was the second variation I tried)  3x7 (this was the third variation) 3x8 (this was my first variation and it didn't go  so well since the last row didn't line up well) I'm thinking for the sake of time and my sanity, I'll have to do the 2x5. That way, my icons w...

Layouts

Here's a website that did a really good explanation on different website layout designs from the most simple " Three Boxes " to more complex " Five Boxes " and beyond . Basically, I understand that there's a balance between being visually appealing and easy to understand.        Here's a magazine layout I like for its balance between text and image. I really like the illusion of depth in this one. I don't have a clue where this is from or for what media, but it's pretty cool.
